David Hemery has a belief that there is a spark of greatness in everyone. Not everyone may have the speed of Usain Bolt or the ability to become a brain surgeon but he believes that there is something special and unique about every human being. It may be that they have more attention to detail than most people or that they care more than others but the contribution that everyone can make to society is of real value.

The Be the Best you can be! programme is intended to challenge and support every child, regardless of their abilities and background. The aim to follow your dream should not be limited to sport. If your goal is music, dance, enterprise, arts or academia, the challenge is still the same. For the sake of illustration, some lads have said they want to play for a Premiership football team. They are told brilliant, so start a success map with that in mind, they may be the one in several thousand to make it. However, what else interests them, so they can have a Plan B and structure that journey at the same time.
